The question so many of my friends are waiting on an answer for, did I finally finish those books? I can say I finished one and am in the middle of another 2 books. My reading game has been slow, which is ok I’m just procrastinating the inevitable pain these books will give me. This summer has been packed with all sorts of things most importantly, Stray Kids comeback which happened late August. (yes that takes centre stage ahem, my reading game may be in the gutter but my love for this group is very much alive.) I also got carried away with dramas and then I found my blogging groove a little bit as you may notice, the colours have changed and the blogs main page has a bit of a revamp. More is planned though…I’m just tired.
Old Blog Posts You May Like
Whilst I’m on hiatus, you can find some of my old posts here that I adore and that you may have missed or haven’t seen before if you’re new to my blog.
This section is a space for me to share anything I’ve been busy working. Either directly relating to the blog or things which have a blog/bookish energy about them.
Blog Design: Ta-da! New colour palette has been sorted and I found my new font for the blog. You may (or not!) have noticed that this posts layout is slightly different. The blog’s overall appearance is ever so slightly different, as I’m slowly making minor updates and changes ready for next year. The social media icons are perhaps the most useful update, as I’d been meaning to update the social links on the sidebar as well as the colour scheme. I’m also working on the navigation menu so uhm please be patient with me as some of the links are temporary whilst I work on the actual page/post that will actually go there 🙂
Block Editor: Hi I decided to play with block editor in July and it’s been fun and frustrating. I like many aspects of it but there’s also many I dislike >.> That said I do recommend using the block editor over classic, if you feel like dipping your toes in. Ahem this coming from someone who has been dead against it since it came out.
Island Adventures: This is going to be an original story that I’ll eventually share on the blog. The first ‘chapter’ is still up on the blog, if you want to read it but I do plan on rewriting it. Anyway here’s a snippet from one of the other chapters that I’m proud of my brain for creating.
“They were an unlikely pair. A girl with bright pink hair in impeccable space buns, every strand seemed to fall into place. As the last rays coloured them golden, Lexi could make out freckles scattered across Naomi’s brown skin, reminding her of stars.”
It has been a long time since I’ve done writing in a world of my own and the magic system may be my demise. Anyway I can’t wait to eventually start sharing this story with you all hehe.
Support Me: I am still in the midst of setting everything up, but I do have a profile over on the Buy Me A Coffee platform, where I will be working on shenanigans over there. I have a Ko-Fi as well so I will be working on setting up some things. There’s of course no pressure to monetarily support me, however I’ll be tinkering with the membership option on Buy Me A Coffee as I have some fun ideas for anyone who does want to support me 🙂
Shadowed Steel by Chloe Neill
Ok so this is book 3 in a spin off series to Chicagoland Vampires which is like one of my all time favourite series ever! Suffice to say I devoured this book in 4 hours and I am now back to pining for a book 4. If you’re after an adult vampire/urban fantasy series highly recommend Chicagoland Vampires – it’s 13 books long but I adore it so much. Vampires, shifters are the key supernaturals present but we see Fae, Nymphs and many more in the books oh and sorcerers they’re important too hehe.
The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
This is one of my current reads. I had hoped to finish it by now however my struggle of connecting with Severin and Laila, has made it quite the challenge. I’m 48% of the way through and other than struggling to connect to two of the main characters. I am loving the descriptions the whole friendship and vibes of this book. (pls tho if we could just remove Severin and Laila’s POV I’d find it easier idk why I am struggle to connect with them *sighs* I don’t even hate them, I just have no interest in them)
Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa
My other current read, which I’m 32% of the way through. I am loving this one so much to the point that I’m scared to read too much at once since there’ll be an ending. I’m not ready, I know this trilogy will hurt my heart and so I’m trying to delay reading the last book. That said I adore all the characters and if you haven’t yet, go pick up Shadow of the Fox!
June blessed my ears and heart with a new skz record from Han (he’s one of the members of Stray Kids, also 1/3 of my main biases…ahem since I’m an OT8 really) However Happy is just ugh, I will never shut up about this boy’s talent, the way his songs just hit me in the heart. I’m not sure if it’s the fact there’s 1 month and a bit age difference between me and him or what but his songs and voice always hits differently. His songs never fail to reach hit my heart and whilst I appreciate it, my heart needs a break ok xD
Everglow released a new song FIRST which really love, I like the choreo too in the MV. Someone pointed out in the comments of the MV that the choreo and general concept of the MV is something you’d typically expect from a boygroup in KPop. As someone who mostly consumes all music from all boy groups it’s true. I’m personally not a huge fan of cute concepts or a lot of the typical concepts the girl groups get given. I can count on one hand how many girl groups I like (Everglow, Dreamcatcher & KARD. Although KARD are a co-ed group, so they have 2 men and 2 women in the group. I’m still including them due to their choreography.)
Speaking of KARD, BM who is a member of KARD came out with a song and it hits different. I’m not sure why, if it’s because it’s English so my brain can fully understand it or if it’s the way the music comes in for the chorus. Maybe it’s mix of both but this song just gives me energy to do things…either be productive or just dance in my chair and lip sync. Anyway it’s a great song and I didn’t realise he had those vocals…damn.
July kicked off with Bang Chan and Lee Know from Stray Kids dropping a SKZ Player and when I tell you it added years to my life. Gah there’s something about their voices, paired with the aesthetic of motorbikes that gives me life. (I just really like motorbikes ok)
Midway into July I redownloaded Duolingo and then I found myself listening to German music via playlists on YouTube. The above playlist has some of my favourite songs and no I don’t understand most of what is said but I recognise more words than I do in most KPop songs.
I fell down the C Drama hole towards the end of July. Resulting in me loving the OST’s for Falling Into Your Smile, it’s so good ugh.
Ateez always pull through when I need them the most. Their summer concepts are just *chefs kiss* and I adore this song so much, it’s so catchy and the MV too.
For all Ateez and Stray Kids are my ult groups, Onewe have a special place in my heart. I adore their music and I usually end up listening to their new stuff as soon as it comes out. Their songs, concepts and just them as a group really have made an impression on my heart. Lowkey though I love the guitars in their songs hehe. My rock loving heart is never disappointed with Onewe.
Stray Kids 2nd album released and I am in love with the songs! Top favs would have to be Star Lost, Sorry, I Love You, The View, Thunderous and Gone Away. I can’t wait for my albums to arrive ^.^ In true Clo fashion I have fallen for another group, I’m not the least bit surprised about this one as I’ve always enjoyed their songs whenever they play but uhm LOSER = LOVER by TXT is an absolute bop, I love everything about it and if anyone cares Yeonjun is my bias, Beomgyu is my bias wrecker.

Asic @ Haven wrote this fabulous post, that my astrology loving self just HAD to share with y’all. What I Think About Each Zodiac Sign feat Lots of Aesthetics ok I was not ready to be so called out with the Scorpio one since literally everything under Scorpio rings true for me personally.
I’ll be sharing what I’ve watched in this section, from YouTube videos to any dramas to anime and more. I will include links to things where possible though!
Falling Into Your Smile
In my defence I was sent an OST for this drama by Soph who said she wanted to watch the drama. Me being me was like oh I’ll snoop on the OST before I forget. BAM. My brain was hooked to the clips featured in the OST and the rest is history. I ADORE this drama with my whole heart and like many fans of the drama I also want another drama featuring the exact same cast cause they are so good together. Aaaah I just !!!
I’ve included the OST WayV did with some of the clips from the drama and just, it took me back to my days of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and just I love these types of shows apparently. The drama revolves around the world of e-sorts, paired with a great plotline and the romance which steadily builds. I also adored the friendship between the main team ZGDX so much and Lao K is my weakness at the moment. I’m soft for him, he doesn’t get many lines but my damn when he does they make me cackle. (I’d also like to say I’m proud that I shoved this drama at Jayati who ended up loving it too, so now we’re waiting for Soph to watch it) 10/10 would recommend this drama and I plan on rewatching it at some point with Jayati hehe.
Skate Into Love
I started this on a whim because after I had to impatiently wait for Falling Into Your Smile to be updated on YouTube – I was craving something to watch. I seem to have a thing for dramas involving sports, honestly I just like the overall mesh of sports x competition x romance and the squad goals of the teams. Anyway this one took me 4 episodes before I started to get properly invested in it. Still I really enjoyed watching it even if I wanted to yeet two of the characters out of the drama. They were so infuriating and I just…why are people so persistent on chasing after someone who is already in a relationship *grumbles*
Anyway this was super cute and worth the watch for me anyway when it picked up, I enjoyed the plotlines unfolding and the two main characters are so cute when they get together. Overall this was a fun watch even if I was infuritated by two of the characters who had potential but were kind of reduced to just “trying to sabotage the relationship” also the secondary characters relationship is so so cute! I loved their relationship.
I mentioned in the Spring Brew that I bought a few books in May…well they all arrived in June. Ahem all of the books I now buy I think super carefully about, I’ll likely do a blog post about this next year. In short I only buy books either from a loved author, I own/have read the first book or I’m 99% sure I will adore the book and want to have it physically on my shelves. I am slowly trying to transition over to having eBooks as my main reading format, however it’s a slow process mostly because I’m still thinking about the best way to go about this and if possible how I can avoid buying them off Amazon.
In the second week of this month I ended napping for 5 hours on two of the days…this is unheard of for me. I don’t enjoy napping during the day as I like to be doing things HOWEVER the combination of hayfever, heat and my body adjusting to a new work schedule of me doing more hours on two of the days. Apparently sent my system for a spin where I needed to nap because my eyes were tired, brain fuzzy…yeah. The naps were quite nice though. (edit: ok I think my body just is too drained for 4.5 hours with children and having to function as more of an extrovert as I seem to crash out after my extra hours at work :/)
Apparently June was also a month of buying things as I bought some washi tapes, my new bujo for the last portion of the year and y’all it’s a B5 size. I’m loving all this space to finally just write without worrying about running out of space.
If you didn’t know a certain K-Pop group had a comeback on the 1st July (Kingdom) the same group Soph has been slowly pushing at me. I am disappointed in myself to announce I caved and have remembered all their names by July 3rd and I am currently listening to Stray Kids as I type this but my brain is stuck of Mujin from Kingdom and Dann. (also why am I nearly always biasing water or earth sun signs?) Anyway Soph is cackling and you all should be scared of her cause no one has the same success rate as her for getting me to fall for things. It’s slightly terrifying.
Continuing on that note I ended up binging Falling Into Your Smile this month and I have no regrets. My serotonin levels went up and I was trying not to die laughing at 3am. Ahem. I also think this is the first time I’ve ever seen a ‘current’ drama as in whilst it’s still airing. It’s also the only reason I didn’t binge it in 3 days >.>
July also marked the return of Hyunjin (Stray Kids) who had been on hiatus since February. Fully admit I teared up seeing him appear in the OH Music Video like my heart. Eeeek also MINGI CAME BACK IN JULY TOO *sobs happy tears* Now both of my ult groups are complete again I am happy and just ugh I’ve missed them being whole.
I played around with making my phone aesthetic. Honestly I am meant for the simpler aesthetic side because I do not have the willpower to really customise the icons and everything. The whale image I found from Pinterest, likewise with the Stray Kids and Ateez images on my homescreen.
3rd week into August and my jaw and tooth decided to be a total downer. For context, I have clenched and ground my teeth since I was like 4, I’ve been doing this my whole life. Luckily it doesn’t usually flair up often, I’ve experienced my jaw locking up though, that’s not fun and really painful. (basically I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough to eat, it physically wouldn’t do it and just hurt). Anyway I originally thought the tooth may have been cracked/chipped as I wear a retainer and I also grind my teeth the most when I am asleep. Now, I’m thinking it’s just trying to come up more from my gum and I’m ok with that mostly…I’ll take that over what I had originally feared. Anyway that caused me to just vanish from everything, since the pain made me want to sleep but I couldn’t sleep cause of the pain
I baked a orange and carrot cake which was really nice, my icing skills are not there though, my mum helped me ice it. I also got to see some of my friends this month so whilst I feel like this summer has slipped away from me, I’m grateful I was finally able to see my friends and catch up!
August’s highlight is probably Stray Kids comeback, so if you don’t care about my thoughts on this album, you can skip the paragraph of me rambling about it. The concept photos for NOEASY literally had me swooning and I’m just in love with this album. I still need to listen to the songs more but for the moment Star Lost and The View are definite favourites. I’ve been playing them a lot along with Secret, Secret and Thunderous M/V. Can we talk about the M/V like they all snapped and I’m a pile of mush now. Lee Know getting so many lines and screen time ugh my heart is very happy. Sorry, I Love You also is a favourite – yes I love the sadder songs but this one I just love how it sounds. I adore it so much the lyrics are sad but relatable to be honest. As are most of their songs.
Also I think I may be a MOA now as well, rip my multi heart, I just really like TXT songs whenever I listen to them and so now I’ve accepted my fate. Loser = Lover is an absolute bop too, such a good song and I love the MV for it.
If you’ve heard Stray Kids album, lemme know your thoughts! Feel free to catch me up on your lives! What have you been reading, how’s the last few months been for you? Sending you all so much love and thank you for sticking around 💜
