I am beyond excited to announce that Bookending Winter will be happening friends, if you’re a book blogger looking to get more involved in the community. Find new blogs to hop to and generally have some fun this Winter, look no further friends! These events are co-organised by myself and the wonderful Sam @ Fictionally Sam, who is my partner in crime. Huge love for Sam and of course all our hosts for this seasons event. Whether you’re a new book blogger, seasoned or your recently back from a hiatus, we hope you can find something in this event which you can join in with!
As I said in the intro, super excited to announce that Bookending Winter will be going ahead, Sam and I took a break this year which meant we missed Summer and Autumn. However we’re back now, there’s a new fun thing that’s been added to this event! I hope you all join in, please remember though there is absolutely no pressure whatsoever, for you complete what you sign up to do. Sam and I aren’t gonna be chasing y’all down with snowballs because you didn’t post at all or only posted once/twice etc.
What Is It?
Bookending Winter 2020 is one of the quarterly events, running under the umbrella term “Bookend Events”, aspiring to bring the book blogging community closer together! Bookending Winter 2020 has a vague theme of snow, coziness, the holidays and everything related to Winter, but you DO NOT need to stick to this theme at all!
What Counts?
- Posting a minimum of 3 blog posts (you can use the prompts or not, up to you)
- Watching/joining in on an Instagram live! (more on that near the end of the post!)
- Interacting with other participants via blog hopping and Twitter!
The Rules
- Book reviews don’t count as part of the event: however you’re more than welcome to still post them throughout the month. Just remember they won’t count as part of your 3 posts
- Not restricted to a theme/topic: you can post about whatever you want, however, we do encourage discussion posts and/or creative post types to branch out and have fun!
- General Topic Ideas: Discussion Posts, Tags/Awards, Memes, Writing Themed Posts, Blogging Themed Posts etc.
- You MUST include the Bookend Events logo somewhere on/within your post: this is so we know which posts are part of the event/got inspired through the event. It also helps us with blog hopping.
How To Sign Up
Join in on the fun by filling out the form! When you sign up, this allows us to see who’s taking part/planning to take part. It’s totally fine, if you end up not being able to participate or even post 3 times (or even once!) It’s just a general idea for us, to see who is planning taking part, so we know who we’re blog hopping to!
Blog Hop Masterlist
One of the great tools we have set up for all of our Bookend Events is the use of our Blog Hop Masterlist. Once you sign up to participate, your name and blog link is automatically registered into the Masterlist. Where you can then add in your BEWinter posts whenever you like, so others participating can blog hop to you and vice versa!

Seasonal Switch: Winter Version

2021 Plans, Goals & Dreams

Whether its book sleeves, candles, clothes, pins or something else – the sky’s your limit with the amount of love you can share for small businesses. I encourage you to boost ones you’ve already bought from, so you can share photos of your items BUT it’s of course entirely your choice. I will be sharing the love for all small bookish businesses I’ve bought things from, as well as including information with regards to where they ship to 😉

Warming Your Winter
A lovely follow on from the previous prompt. Spend some time reflecting on those people in your life who’ve made this year better. Reading the Year Ahead
December is a good time for preparing for the next year, one way to do this is through Tarot Readings. There are plenty of New Year Tarot Spreads that exist so it’s a good time to browse them and share your favourites, or even use them as research to create your own.
(Whilst this might be too niche for some participants, we do recommend having a look at the spreads as they can often be good questions or prompt to spend the time reflecting or planning, without the need for Tarot Cards)
