I found this tag over on Alexandra @ Reading By Starlight’s blog and as a Swiftie and book lover, I’m going to be doing this tag. I do have a deep love for Taylor’s older country music but I do love the Lover album. Many bops on that album.

☆ TAG AS MANY SWIFTIES AS YOU WANT! (Or non-Swifties, maybe inspire them to listen to our Queen)
I Forgot That You Existed
A Book That You Want To Forget You Ever Read
Paper Towns by John Green. I manage to get re-mad every time when I think about this book, although now thankfully I can’t remember all the details of the book. I still remember feeling super mad about this book and the characters just annoyed me…I’d love to forget I read this book. Then I’d not feel mad every time I thought/saw its title.
A Book You Turn To When The Going Gets Rough
A Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare, specifically the middle book in the trilogy because the characters know each other and it’s…not all going to come crashing to an emotional end. A Clockwork Prince actually has some of my favourite scenes in with Jem and Tessa, as well with Will and Tess and Jem and Will. Look they have my heart, they’ve had my heart for years now and I adore the three of them. The book just soothes me.
Your Book OTP
Aaaah I have many, so many and some happen, others don’t so we’ll do a list because we love a good list here.
- Celaena & Dorian (Throne of Glass by SJM)
- Merit & Ethan (Chicagoland Vampires series by Chloe Neill)
- Tessa & Jem/Will (The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare – I ship her with both equally!)
- Tori & Aaron/Kai/Ezra/Zak (Guild Codex: Spellbound series – look I adore the other boys and I can not for the life of me decide who I ship more with her, I appreciate them all though)
Your Fave Kick-Ass Female Protagonist
Oooo erm I have many, I think the first that comes to mind is Merit from Chicagoland Vampires because of her character arc and how she grows as a character. It’s wonderful to see.
A Book With Good Mental Health Representation
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia has anxiety representation which many people have said is good rep, I personally can’t weigh in on that but I have read the book and I did really enjoy it. I think the rep was executed really well, with care and based on others thoughts the rep was done well.
I Think He Knows
Your Fave Fictional Crush
Jules from The Dark Artifices series by Cassandra Clare. As much as I adore Jem and Will, there’s just something about Jules I adore and want to protect him. Other than Jules, a few other mentions are going out to Adrian (Bloodlines), Jem (TID), Levi (Ace of Shades).
Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince
Fave Angsty Romance
Resisting Gravity by Vera Calloway, I first read this when it was under it’s old name on Wattpad and I fell in love with the characters and it definitely has angst and touches on potentially triggering themes (off the top of my head there’s mention of drug overdose, suicide and something else which I can’t remember at the moment). It’s also home to some of my favourite characters for the banter and it’s set in college.
Book With An Ugly Cover That You Absolutely Adored
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa I adored the Iron Fey books and I’m planning on buying them finally, to reread because I remember cackling away at some of the dialogue in these books which is all I need to know it was a good book. The original covers are by no means ugly though, they’re just…very early 00s with having a person on the front, they did have glitter going for them though.
A Book Or Series You Never Want(ed) To End
Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill. Ok it’s a 13 book series and we do get a spin off series but like I could just happily keep reading books set in that world with Merit and Ethan till the cows come home. I adore that series with my whole heart.
Death By A Thousand Cuts
A Book Or Series That Deserved A Better Ending
lmao the meteor garden 2018 reboot I was robbed of an ending that made sense Ahem let’s see, I’m not sure, there’s not a book which is leaping to mind at the moment.
Your Fave British Male Protagonist
Will Herondale. This is a shock to no one. Will was born in Wales and whilst he lives at the London Institute, he’s British by birth as it doesn’t matter if you’re Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish/English you’re still British as British is referring to the whole of the United Kingdom. In case you thought British was just another way of saying someone’s English 😉
Soon You’ll Get Better
A Book That Your Heart Will Never Recover From
The Mortal Coil series I still need to read This Viscous Cure but holy smokes…my heart will never recover from those books. Amazing characters, plot, world building and I am very happy I listened to everyone poking me to read it!
A Character You Would Leap Into the Burning Pits Of Hell To Save
Jem from TID. He is a precious cinnamon roll and I will protect him always, for all I say I love both Jessa and Wessa equally I do adore Jem more as a character. I still love Will but there’s just something about Jem which I love and can’t explain other than he’s a cinnamon.
You Need To Calm Down
A Book With a Powerful Message
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas has a powerful message that I still need to read. Yes friends, I have yet to read THUG but I plan to this year because I really need to.
A Book You Want To Give A Second Chance
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. I don’t know why but I have read and reread Red Queen several times in order to continue the series, I started Glass Sword and wasn’t feeling it. This was a good 3 or so years ago and I haven’t picked it up again despite wanting to finish the series. I liked Red Queen but I just was not feeling the second books so at some point I plan to pick it back up.
Also the Truthwitch series by Susan Dennard, I read Truthwitch years ago and again I liked it but I started the sequel (Windwitch I think it is) and it just wasn’t clicking so I put it down. I also want to give that series another try.
Best Character Development
I’ve been thinking about my answer to this question for ages and I still can’t think of any one character, because so many characters go through such awesome development. I think one of my favourites is Cat’s from This Mortal Coil series by Emily Suvada.
It’s Nice To Have A Friend
Fave Friends-To-Lovers Story
My mind blanked until I remembered Emma and Jules from The Dark Artifices series are technically friends to lovers? Like they were friends who erm…fall in love with each other so we’ll go with those two because I do not remember any other friends to lovers.
If You Could Only Read One Book Or Series Again And Again, What Would It Be?
Chicaogland Vampires by Chloe Neill, I was going to say The Infernal Devices but Chicagoland Vampires has 13 books so that’d keep me occupied for longer than a trilogy hehe.
If I didn’t tag you, feel free to still do the tag! Are you a fan of Taylor Swifts music or not? Do you have a favourite friends to lovers story or enemies to lovers?
