Currently Reading Tag

I think this is the first time I’ve managed to do a tag I was tagged in, in the same month as being tagged. Charvi @ Its Not Just Fiction tagged me earlier this week in this and because I’m a scrambled egg of a mess I realised I’d not prepped any posts for this month. *rolls out this super long list of tags* Luckily for me I have a backlog of book tags to get through, so this month is gonna be full of tags.

How Many Books Do You Usually Read At Once?

I usually read one now, in the past I’ve juggled up to 11 at once, although I do sometimes juggle 3 books. It does depend on if the book grabs me or not as I usually try and read my books in one sitting these days.

How Do You Decide To Switch Between Multiple Reads?

If the current read isn’t clicking with me I’ll switch or if I’m just bored sometimes I’ll switch. It really depends on my mood as instead of switching between books, I may choose to put the book down and go do something else.

Do You Ever Switch Bookmarks Partway Through A Book?

Not really no, sometimes I don’t even use a bookmark because I read the book in one go.

Where Do You Keep The Book/s You’re Currently Reading?

Either on my chest of drawers or somewhere on my desk…sometimes I misplace them and forget where I’ve let the book/s, which is when I play the hunt-the-book game.

What Time Of Day Do You Read The Most?

Afternoons usually sometimes in the morning, it really depends. A few years ago I’d have said evenings and into the night/early morning but since I got a handle on my sleep pattern my reading habits shifted too.

How Long Do You Typically Read In A Session?

1-4 hours depending on the book, how long it is and if I’m reading the book in one go or not. As I can read about 100 pages in an hour give or take, it doesn’t take me that long to get through a book if I’m really loving it.

Do You Read Hardbacks With The Dust Jackets Off?

I really, really, really don’t like hardbacks. Mostly due to dust jackets so you’ll mostly catch me with paperbacks but when I do have the rare hardback the dust jacket is off taking a nap in safe place.

What Position Do You Mainly Use To Read?

The fact my mind went into the gutter as soon as I saw this questions, says everything you need to know about me haha. I’m usually sitting in a chair or sprawled out on a bed…*snickers*

Do You Take Your Current Read With You Everywhere You Go?

Nope. I don’t have a Kindle so I don’t read eBooks and I refuse to take my own books out of the house, well I did but now I have cute booksleeves they do leave the house more. But since I only leave the house for work there’s not time to read on my way to walk (I’m walking ok I’d probably fall over if I tried reading and walking at the same time.) If it’s a library book that I’m currently reading then they tend to come out with me more.

How Often Do You Update Your Goodreads Reading Progress?

I go in and out of phases. At the moment I’m in a phase of not really updating my progress and sometimes I forget to update the books I’ve read. Although I don’t have the app on my phone anymore so that’s another reason I’m not updating all that much.

  1. It was interesting to read your answers. This tag was actually my very first tag I did and the very first post ever in my blog! I don’t have kindle but I do love reading eBooks via kindle app in my phone. It’s not even that cold yet (like -2 C) but I already feel like freezing so I don’t always read during my walk to work.

  2. I am like you, and tend to read a lot of books at once and switch depending on my mood! I am surprised you don’t like hardbacks but even though dustjackets are beautiful, I agree that they are annoying. I always read with them off. I also read at random times but you read way more in one sit down session than I do! I marvel that you aim to read books in one session nowadays. Goals!

    • Aaaah twinsies haha and yeah hardbacks and I have never really gotten along, ignoring the fact they’re more expensive they also take up more space on my shelf and the dust jackets do my head in. I do have hardbacks though for some signed editions though haha.

I’m lucky that I’m able to just sit down and write off a chunk of my day to reading a book, sometimes I’ll read a book in like 3 chunks though it really depends haha.

  3. I relate to this a LOT. I’m a decently fast reader but depending on the size of the book most times it takes me about 7 hours to finish so ur quick!!! Dust jackets are vv annoying so I store mine in a safe place when I read hardcovers too 😉 oh, btw I’m a new blogger and I just found ur blog and I love it! It’s so interesting and I love all the posts you do!
